#PackPros Update: Week 3
9/23/2015 4:27:00 PM | Football
RALEIGH, N.C. - The #PackPros continue to make headlines as teams head into Week 3 of the NFL regular season.
After completing 35 of 42 pass attempts in season opener against Detroit and going 21 for 27 last week at Cincinnati, Philip Rivers leads the NFL in pass completion percentage at 81.2 percent throwing for a total of 645 yards, the fourth highest league total.
Russell Wilson and his Seattle squad are off to a rough start, entering week three with a 0-2 record. Wilson was sacked twice at Green Bay on Sunday and six times at St. Louis in week one. He went 19 and 30 for 206 yards in week two. Wilson's run game is arguably his stronger suit, tallying 109 rushing yards so far this regular season putting him at No. 22 among rush leaders with Cam Newton as the only quarterback in front of Wilson in the rankings.
Offensive linemen J.R. Sweezy and Ted Larsen both started in the first two weeks of the regular season. Larsen was predicted to be the backup guard following Arizona's free-agent acquisition in the off-season, but due to injuries and suspensions, the depth chart shifted in Larsen's favor moving him to the starting spot. The Cardinals are off to a 2-0 start.
WAIVER WIRE: David Amerson was signed to the Oakland Raiders roster on Tuesday after being released by the Washington Redskins on Monday.
INJURY ALERT: Jerricho Cotchery suffered a high ankle sprain on Sunday during the Panther's win over the Texans. Cotchery is estimated to be sidelined somewhere between four and six weeks.
INJURY ALERT: Markus Kuhn remains on the Giants' injury report as the team nears a Thursday night match-up against the Redskins. Kuhn suffered a knee sprain during week one against the Cowboys that forced him to leave the game.
