RALEIGH --Monday afternoon the Office of Student Athlete Development and the Athletics Department Sport Psychologist hosted the inaugural meeting of Pack International, which allows international student-athletes the opportunity to meet other internationals and bond over their shared experiences.

In addition to meeting other student-athletes, the program is designed to acclimate internationals, enhance retention, and provide support networks in times of need.

As college athletics and the recruitment of international student-athletes continue to grow, NC State is stepping up to provide its international student-athletes with a chance to ease their transition to life in the United States.

The event featured lunch, icebreakers, feedback of current programs and input on future activities that could help with their transition to life at NC State.
"We want to thank them for adding diversity to our department," said Sport Psychologist Michelle Joshua. "Not only culturally, but also a certain sense of maturity that they all must possess to navigate being in another country, in addition to being a student-athlete."
There will be continued programming for our international student-athletes in the upcoming academic year.
