Junior running back leads ACC in rushing TDs
RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State head football coach Dave Doeren has announced that junior running back Matthew Dayes will miss the remainder of the 2015 season after suffering a foot injury against Clemson.  Dayes will undergo surgery on Friday.
Â
"I'm disappointed for Matt because he was having a really good year," said Doeren.  "But in football you've got to have a 'next man up' mentality, and I'm confident that his teammates will be ready to take on bigger roles and be successful."
Â
Dayes' 108.1 rushing yards per game this season are the most for a Wolfpack player since 1981 (Joe McIntosh), while his 12 rushing touchdowns tie as the seventh-best single season mark in school history.Â
Â
For his career, he posts 1,690 rushing yards, the 15th-best total in the NC State record books.
