#PackPros Update: Week 8

David Amerson continues to earn his role with Oakland Raiders since being signed to the roster a month ago. The former second round draft pick was credited with being Oakland's best CB in Week 4 after tallying seven tackles, deflecting a pass and forcing a fumble. In Week 7, Oakland shut down fellow #PackPros collegue, Philip Rivers and his San Diego Chargers. Rivers was not Amerson's only connection to the Chargers but also faced his former high school teammate and childhood friend Keenan Allen, San Diego's leading receiver. Amerson made six tackles and deflected one pass in the Week 7 match-up. Although the Raiders secondary may have dropped the ball in the fourth quarter (pun intended) it was still heads down for Rivers and company and the end of the game.
Rivers maintains the No. 1 passing offense following regardless of his loss in Week 7. Though suffering a loss in Week 6 as well, Rivers managed to set a franchise-record of 503 passing yards at the Packers. He went 38-58 and 336 yards with a season-high two interceptions against the Raiders, and connected for three touchdowns all in the fourth quarter of the game and remains as the league's leading passer.
Another QBU alum is on his way to a record-setting performance this season, though not in passing yards. Russell Wilson has been sacked 31 times so far this season. No stranger to a hit from a defensive lineman, having been sacked 42 times last season and 44 in 2013, he currently lists as the most sacked quarterback and most sacked yards lost in the league. The Seahawks pulled away with a considerable 20-3 win in Week 7 at San Francisco.
In Week 4 Mario Williams made headlines for a destructive hit to Giants running back, Rashad Jennings. While Williams himself has put up three sacks so far this season, the Bills are the 11th least sacking team in the NFL. He's currently No. 8 in career sacks among active players in the NFL. With 94 in his tenth season, Williams has tallied the greatest number of sacks among players with ten or less years of experience.Â

Steven Hauschka remains perfect heading into Week 8 of the season. In seven games he's 16-16 with four of 50 yards or more. He's put 62 points on the board for Seattle this season and leads the league in FGM.Â
There was some speculation surrounding Stephen Tulloch's role on the Lions defense at the beginning of the season. He seems to have regained the coaches' trust, working his way back up the depth chart. He recorded 13 tackles in Detroit's only win of the season against Chicago and 56 total.
Audie Cole has been seeing minimal action on the Minnesota defense but proved to use his snaps wisely in Game 7, forcing a stop at the goal line against Detroit in the fourth quarter.
Markus Kuhn was off to a rough start at the beginning of the season having suffered a knee injury in Game 1 at Dallas that sidelined him for the following three games. Redemption was sweet for Kuhn in Week 7, tallying a sack against the Cowboys on his home turf.
Jerricho Cotchery returned to play in Week 6 after suffering an ankle injury in late September. The Panthers are a perfect 6-0 thus far.
Rookie T.Y. McGill began to see action in Week 6. In his second game on the active roster McGill was one of only two outside rushers to get hands on Tom Brady, forcing an incompletion by the Patriots. He tallied two tackles in Week 7 against the Saints.
