Both ranked men's and women's Wolfpack teams are competing in the Wisconsin Invite, which is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m. ET. Later in the day, several individuals from the men's and women's team will run at the Wake Forest Invitational at 4:30 p.m.

Opportunities:
Competition is deep in both races, as 17 ranked men's teams and 20 ranked women's teams will line up. A strong result at the race will help the Pack earn criteria points, which go towards selection for the NCAA Championships.
On the women's side, the 12th-ranked Pack will have a rematch against top-ranked New Mexico and face No. 3 Providence, No. 6 Boise State, No. 8 Iowa State, as well as several other ranked teams for the first time this year.
After jumping up 10 spots after the Notre Dame Invite, the 17th-ranked NC State men's team will match up against nine teams ranked above them, including No. 2 Syracuse, No. 4 Stanford and No. 5 Iona.
PACK Running:
Both teams finished second at Notre Dame after strong pack running. The men had four individuals place in the top 14 and the women had four cross the finish line among the top 19 out of a field of 174 runners.
Running Through The 6k:
For the first time this season, the women's team is going to race on a 6,000m course. The Pack's training has been geared towards the longer runs, and the 6k course should be a welcome change for the women's team.
Frazier's Progress:
Ryan Frazier opened her collegiate career with back-to-back wins, including an impressive victory at the Notre Dame Invitational over several of the nation's top ranked runners. After the win at Notre Dame, Frazier jumped to No. 6 in the individual FloTrack rankings, and won her second USTFCCCA Athlete of the Week Award, as well as ACC Performer of the Week honors this season.

Building Depth and Experience:
In addition to Vargas, several freshman and underclassmen will run. The race gives the group a chance to gain experience of competing in another college race. Jack Hagood, Aaron Thomas, Rachel Bartolomeo and Esther Fisher will run in their third race of the season, while Ben Barrett and Kyle Christ will race for the third time.
Harvey's Season Debut:
Fifth-year senior Alexa Harvey will return to the cross country course for the first race of her final season. The Arden, N.C., native is aiming to resume racing after missing the 2014-15 indoor and outdoor track season.
